apologies for the lack of update and activity that's been happenning in this blog...i keep telling myself "need to update, need to update", but alas, the slacker in me seems to know better. ha...a lot of things have happened to me since the last time i've posted (obviously) and i can't be bothered to bore you with tiny details and misadventures in my daily life...but in return for the long silence, i present to you photographies of people, events and good times that's been keeping me busy and entertained for the last few months...click em' and weep...enjoy...oh by the way, i'm doing fine. ha...
japan was awesome and now we've reach singapore...so greetings from the land of laksa and uber hot humid...we just played our set yesteday at baybeats fest, which went well i thought - i really enjoyed it...the festival has been fun so far and it's been great to hang out with all our singaporean friends that we've met through out the past few visits here, and with the buddhistson crew...the only kicker is that most of us has been plagued with cold and flu and annoying sore throats due to restless nights, so i'm pretty much drained and drowsy most of the time cos of the medecines i've been taking...add the hot sunny weather and the laid back atmosphere here in singapore, and you'll find me just wanting to do nothing or dosing off most of the time...unfortunate sleep or a good night rest has been something none of us has been getting enough, but oh well, we all still get by...random story - we went to a after show party last night were we met the guys from last days of april from sweden, we talked to the drummer and turns out he went to south island school in HK few years ago...small world...
random sleep facts i learnt from the whc boys on tour:: -josh always gets the worse sleeping space or bed everywhere we go -ken sleeps the longest and always gets annoyed when we wake him up, but that's given since he's still a growing boy -stephane can seriously party hard late, but still manages to wake up early for an hour of sun tanning before we go out of the house -nic crashes early almost everynight and wakes up the earliest just to get his internet time -and apparently, i snore REALLY LOUD...(yeah, i've even woken myself up sometimes. ha)
greetings everyone...a thousand apologies for a super lack of updates on this site...things have been crazy and at the same time really good in my camp for the last 3 months, mostly involving with whence he came and all...too many things happening all at once, which i won't be going into details, worry not...anyways, right now i'm back in japan again for our first leg of our asia tour followed by a trip down to singapore for the mighty mighty baybeats fest then followed by thailand and malaysia later on...so far, i'm having the time of my life and i wish everyday could be like this. ha...do check out the whence he came tour diary for some daily updates and photo gallery to check up on our summer adventure, i do most of the tour diary entry by the way...things have been doing well, so far so good, shopping and food is nice, last night was a sold out/over capacity show - boy was it packed, and we've been seeing tons of amazing bands...i don't even know why they like us here when they have better local bands to watch. ha...anyways, i'm off, will "try" and update this blog more from time to time...here's to a summer of love, kids...chan neh!!
audio :: this is where we rise - a buddhistson and whence he came collaboration
well another chinese new year has come and go...i for one had a good time, even though i only received the standard of 4 red packets...mostly from strangers at josh's chinese new year house party...sheesh, i need to hang out with more chinese married couples. ha...anyhoos, nothing much has been new...we had a show a few nights ago, i'd say that'd be my highlight for the moment...it's been in awhile since we played and it really felt good playing again...we've got few more shows coming up, which is pretty exciting for me to say the least...for the mean time, he're something to keep you ladiesss warm during these cold winter nights that we're having lately...expect another 10 weeks of no updates as usual. ha...enjoy the lovegetty pics...yeah baby, we're so hot....and so hairless *sigh*...

supposedly my Dj name is "DJ Penetrating pitz" and if i was a pornstar i'd be called: "Nick Naughty"....why do they both sound so dodgy??
in other news, i got home last night and was surprised by a package coming from japan...it was from my sweet sweet friend - yumi from the buddhistson fame, she sent me 2 of my favorite japanese indie rock bands new releases - bandwagon's - the equipment!!! and the reach up to the universe/new age september split and some other cool stuff...both these cds have been playing on my ears all day, highly recommended...sweetness, nothing beats getting air-packages...have a good week...
i haven't taken out my digicam in awhile now, until 2 nights ago when suki had her small b-day dinner bash...just though i'd put some pics instead cos i have nothing to write about today...
we saw this poster right outside a massage parlor and i just had to take a picture of/with it, you can imagine all the hysterical immature laughter that went on...somebody please tell what kind of machinery is it, because my imagination has been running wild ever since i saw it and it ain't pretty. ha
highllight of the weekend :: matrix revolutions and seeing rolling stones at harbour fest...big thanks to ann ong for scoring me and josh free kick-ass-close-to-the-stage tickets to the stones show...never have i enjoyed such old, ugly and aging away rockers put on such an entertaining 2 hour set...i just wished i knew more of their songs rather than the most obvious ones like satisfaction, etc, and a few songs that guns n roses covered from them...never the less it was an experience indeed...worst part about the show - seeing aging white wimmen all over the place dancing exoticly, feeling like they still have the mojo of a 19 year old...accckkk, my eyes, my freakin eyes!!!

goodness gracious, when was the last time i touched this website??!
..anyhoos, i'm still alive and hanging in there...tired, beaten and practically dragging my zombie sleepless body around all day cos of a very special (and tiring!) last few days i've had with our japanese rock sensation friends, who came in town for a rock n' roll weekend...the buddhistson crew got here in town late thursday night, packed with their fancy digital cameras and tourist excitement, these guys were definitely ready for a hk experience...we played 3 awesome shows with them under their 5 days here, including the the much anticapated Rockit festival during saturday and sunday, which was a hit in town by the way...it was mucho sweetness seeing buddhistson on stage again and hanging out with them, they're no doubt an amazing band and great guys that makes an impact everywhere they play by blowing the crowd away...it was also special this time cos they actually got to meet and hang out with our friends and i had the real pleasure of taking some of them all around town for the magical places of sightseeing and crazy shopping bargains, trying to pay them back the hospitality they've given us before, hope i did alright. ha...anyways, they left for home today and now we're all pretty much in deppression mode again (well, at least me), i miss them all...our weekend of rock n roll has come and go pretty darn fast leaving us to another normal crappy weekday...bummer dude...anyhoos, shameless plug: this friday, amnesia - soho, 10:30, $100 cover charge for the almighty electric eel shock halloween showcase with whence he came, uncle joe and oliver....come one come all...
well my days have pratically been turned into a routine of waking up late, heading over to touch studio, spending 9 hours there, coming home late or occasionally crashing over at josh's house and then waking up and doing the same routine again...i'm not complaining or anything, being in the studio is always fun and definitely loud, but sometimes, doing nothing and waiting around even tires me out more than actually doing some work, fortunately i've done all my basic guitar tracks and i don't think i need to be there almost 24/7...recording has been doing excellent, martijn is definitely a magician in his own field...we've wasted about 3 days in the beginning of the project doing mostly nothing, equipments keep dying on us and nobody knows how to fix it...it's official, we do have the worst of luck...fortunately, we've recovered the G4 mac after it litterally blew up on us (yes, smokes and sparks, the whole shabang) and since then recording has been doing smoothly and we're back on track again, still a bit paranoid about computer explosions, but at least we're actully getting some work done...after spending over a week of just being in a soundproof room filled with fancy gadgets and a bunch of rockstars, it's always nice to come out and play and socialise...we took the sunday off for our show at the Uncle Joe CD release party, which was probably the best rock show ever to hit this town in a long while...everything was just smooth, well organised and the belles of the ball were tight...the turn out and the atmosphere was also a big factor why the whole show was a success, i'm definitely proud to be somehow part of something so good as that...
anyways, here's some few snap shot from the studio and the UJ party:
